Meet Carol Ann Doucette, your RE/MAX specialist in the Greater Portland & the Lakes Region areas. Carol Ann grew up in Portland and Falmouth and moved to the Lakes Region several years ago. She has worn many hats over the years before becoming a Realtor in 1991. Those included Dental Assistant, Recovery Room Tech and Surgical Technician for 21 years at Mercy Hospital in Portland Maine. She also managed her own wallpapering and painting company for several years. Within a short period of time, after entering the real estate industry, she was named the Real Trends Rookie of the Year. This national designation is bestowed upon only a small number of agents across the United States. Her attention to detail, caring, compassion and zeal for the job at hand have made her a true "friend" to those she has been involved with over the years. Those friends have provided her with a referral base that continues to grow based on a high level of satisfaction from her clients. She has consistently been a multimillion-dollar producer and one of the top agents in the area belonging to the Executive and Presidential Club of RE/MAX. She has been a RE/MAX agent since 1999.
Carol Ann believes that education is one of the most important aspects of her career. It not only provides her with the tools and skills necessary in this ever-changing industry but also allows her to educate her clients. She is a Certified Buyer Agent, a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI) and was awarded the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation. She has completed the course for Designated Broker, the highest level of licensing within the state. She has received the RE/MAX Hall of Fame Award, which honors successful agents who have earned more than a million dollars in commissions during their careers with the company. Less than 22% of RE/MAX Affiliates have earned this prestigious award. She is also a member of the Portland Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. In 2008, Carol Ann received her national accreditation as a home staging specialist and incorporates that expertise as part of her listing services.
Carol Ann has been involved with the Little Sebago Lake Association as it’s past president, editor for the website, watershed survey steering committee member and now an honorary member. She is keenly aware of the environmental issues of Little Sebago and has worked with town and state officials to preserve its quality. In 2007 she met with Governor Baldacci in Augusta and traveled to Washington D.C. working on the first of its kind Milfoil Initiative for federal funding for milfoil mitigation in the state of Maine. In October of 2009, $500,000 was granted to the Maine Milfoil Initiative for use in 2010. She is a board member of the Cumberland County Soils and Water District and in 2016 was designated the Volunteer of the Year for that organization. Believing in giving back to the community, she consistently donates a portion of her commission to the Good Sheppard Food Bank, to help fight hunger in Maine, The Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fuel Fund for her hometown of Windham & the Vieques Puerto Rico Humane Society & Animal Rescue who work with a shoestring budget to help abandoned animals on the island to find their new “forever home” in the United States.
A self-proclaimed HGTV groupie, she is up to date on the latest in rehab and new products which she incorporates as advice and guidance to her clients. She is a super fan of “Fixer Upper” with Chip and Johanna Gains. She has designed her home reflecting many of those details including the beloved “shiplap”!!!! Decorating and seeing the future vision inspires and energizes her. She is an avid gardener, sharing a space with her husband Neal, a retired Falmouth School Teacher, in the Windham community garden. They have a friendly competition as to who can produce the most and enjoy sharing the bounty with neighbors and friends. She and Neal work together to create items for donation for fundraising for the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook, where Neal volunteers. He is also a tour guide for the Gray Animal Park in the summer.
Whether you are building a new home, selling a pre-existing property or looking for those special lake getaways, Carol Ann is the Realtor to call. Waterfront property especially holds a place in her heart having owned a lakefront home on Little Sebago Lake in the past. She consistently achieves the level of professionalism that is expected from RE/MAX associates.
“Assisting in the process of buying and selling homes is her job, but helping people is her passion.”
