Memorial Day is observed this Monday, May 29th, and honors the men and women who died while serving in the US Military. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries and memorials, holding family gatherings, and participating in parades. It also marks the unofficial start of the summer season, especially here in New England, where it coincides with the first days that it is safe to plant gardens and coordinate similar outdoor activities that cannot be subject to frost.
